The Bead Parlor has a bevy of very creative monthly regular Instructors who have made The Bead Parlor their second home. Jean Hickok, Diane Faulk, Kathy Boeckman, Nancy Griffin, and Debbie Butcher. These gals have all helped make The Bead Parlor what it is today. A fun, interesting place to come in and learn all kinds of new techniques and stitches to add to your beading repertoire. They are also good friends of mine.

In addition to our regular Instructors, we have visiting Instructors, all of whom add a wide variety of excitement to the many class projects offered each month at The Bead Parlor.Come in, call or email to sign up for classes ahead of time. Please allow 1/2 hour prior to class time for shopping at The Bead Parlor for supplies needed for the class. We do our best to start classes at the scheduled time.

Crazy For Copper

Shelley Nybakke - Instructor

Saturday, August 10, 10:30 am

$20.00 class fee

Beadwork Magazine gave it that name.  While I'm crazy about a whole lot of thigns, and I do like copper, I'm not sure I'm crazy about it.  So don't let the name scare you away.  I'll let you make it in silver, gold, black, or whatever you like.  Plus, you don't even have to use crystals.  See how frigging flexible I am???   Beautiful project, even for beginners!!

Crystal Cluster Buster

Jean Hickok - Instructor

Saturday, August 10, 1:30 pm

$20.00 class fee

I own a lot of Jean's bangles, either ones she has given to me, some I purchased and/or "traded", or those I just plain stole from her.  That is what happens when she makes such irresistable pieces.  These are a couple of my favorites.

Ruffled Bangle

Shelley Nybakke - Instructor

Saturday, August 16, 10:30 am

$20.00 class fee

Rules, rules, boy I hate to make them.  But my silly little rule with this one will just have to be that you already are familiar with Basic Right Angle Weave.   As recently seen in Bead & Button's "Subscriber Exclusive", this one has been hidden away for way too long.  And then they didn't even put it in the magazine!!  Almost Famous was almost annoyed at that.

Gathered Together

Shelley Nybakke - Instructor

Thursday - August 21, 6:00 pm

$20.00 class fee

Don't be deceived by the looks.  This is a wonderful beginner class that you will want to make over and over.

Hot Bead Necklace

Judy Kummer - Instructor

Saturday, August 24, 1:30 pm

$20.00 class fee

I know it doesn't look like it, but another great class for a beginner.  Judy whips these pretty necklaces up right and left and when she isn't around, I can be caught wearing this one.  Shhhhhhh, don't let her know.

HOT AUGUST NIGHTS

Frankly I was very surprised at the turnout for this event last year, but its no wonder.  You could walk along Main Street right out my door and get some of the best food in Bloomington.   Bands were playing and DOWNTOWN WAS ROCKING.  If you missed it last year, give it a try.  I know that everyone that attended last year, will definitely be back for more.  Great food, beer tent, Margarita tent, all at my fingertips.     Heaven, I'm in heaven....

Go Round in Cirles

Shelley Nybakke - Instructor

Thursday, August 28, 6:00 pm

$20.00 class fee

I am constantly going around in circles.  I should be skinny, but I'm just dizzy.  Peyote knowledge needed for this one.

Rainbow Weave

Nancy Griffin- Instructor

Saturday, August 30, 10:30 am

$20.00 class fee

Somewhere over the Rainbow will be your pot of gold.  In the meantime, you will just have to make your own jewelry (not that I still wouldn't even if I had a million pots of gold) and this one is WONDERFUL.

Lisa Pisa Work

Lisa Albright - Instructor

Saturday, August 301, 1:30 pm

$20.00 class fee

Come join Lisa in her first ever class at The Bead Parlor.  Lisa walked in one day and was immediately addicted to beads and she is one of those talented beaders that just need to look at something to know how it is done. Great class for beginners and imagine how many of these you can have climbing up your wrist.

Copper Falls

Jean Hickok - Instructor

Saturday, September 6, 1:30 pm

$20.00 class fee

Raku pendant, copper chain, and slight twist here and there, and you have made a one-of-a-kind necklace.  Come check out the new copper beads and glass beads I have ordered just for this class.  The gal I bought the raku pendants from at The Bead & Button Show was this adorable young thing from North Carolina wearing a little vintage hat who was impossible not to buy something from.  She had gotten a call the Thursday before the B&B Show that they have found a spot for her.  Talk about last minute notification.   And she pulled together enough pieces and a beautiful booth in just a short couple of days.  Never ever could I have done that.
